“Lancia, bella macchina”, dice Stirling Moss

Londra - Chantilly
01/05/2000

Partiti! Di qui all’arrivo troppe ne dovrà patire…

"Lancia beautiful car," says Stirling Moss.

We started! The show was really exciting, a hundred classic cars lined up for two, on Tower's Bridge closed for the occasion, decked with flags, packed with cheering people. The cars older become stars. A Locomobile 1912, two Rolls Royce of '13, cars that even in museums is difficult to find. Every car has with the national flag. 24 different countries represented by the brave who are headed to Calais. Sir Stirling Moss gave us the start, a name carved in capital letters in the history of motorsports. He said us "Lancia beautiful car!" when it has been our turn at 10.35, and we started with flags waving and last congratulations. Very appreciated those of the Italian ambassador, came with a large representation at the start. Enthusiastic more than any other Mario Fridegotto, likely new fanatic of vintage cars. Misty crossing and evening at Chantilly castle. The Oldest cars have their first troubles. Our "Vagabunda" behaved well. It knocks a little when is cold, its brakes hiss and occasionally we can hear a hiss. But are the infirmities of age. Since now to the end it  shall suffer very much...
