S’è rotta la più vecchia

Chantilly - Aix le Bains
02/05/2000

In France, the oldest car already has broken

The first withdrawal is the Locomobile 1912. They have crushed the engine and it looked like a downed dinosaur. Even Rolls 1913 has had his troubles, accuses seven-hour penalty. Nearly twenty competitors were not able to respect the time, for mechanical breakdowns or for having taken (as the Japanese crew, but it was not the only one) the wrong way. There were two “special tests" along the Jura mountains, not very fast but an uncertainty, a crossroads confused with the next was enough to remain back and the path did not allow easy recoveries. Vagabunda is zero penalties and it continues to run with a beautiful round engine. Brakes hiss, will be a kind of serenade ... Tomorrow we will be in Italy, we hope that our hotel tradition is higher than that encountered in Aix. An hour and forty minutes to have dinner, with a cloud of waiters who produced only wind.
