Piu’ a sud non si puo’ andare

Rio Grande - Ushuaya
12/11/2001

WE CANT GO SOUTHER THAN HERE This city is the world at the end of the world. It is surrounded by the sea of the bay, by a forest and by mountains with the top always snowy. It is nice to see it from our hotel. We were very happy when we arrived here because Ushuaya represents the southern part of our trip. Like usual something went wrong. Accelerator gave us other problems. On gravel a few 4x4 over passed us raising a lot of dust so that we couldn’t see anything. When we arrived a kind fan told us where to go for repairing. Mechanic, Ruben, started to fit accelerator, cleaned air filter and opened carburettor (there was a little crack that permitted to dust to enter) and something else. He did not want money and when we insisted, he said “you are Italian and I bring you in my Corason”. Tomorrow we will go back to Rio Grande where I booked new tyres and where we will go to sleep in the same hotel with the wall in the front and the ocean in the back.
