Vagabunda strut in Bonfanti Museum

12/07/2011

What emotion to see her again! Our Lancia Flavia coupe " Vagabunda " exhibited at the Bonfanti-Vimar museum (in Bassano del Grappa) looks like a diva, in the first row in the exhibition devoted to the rally cars. There are those of Munari , Miki Biasion , but she looks good too. And also, they have placed beside a billboard that tells a little her history and adventures. And then two blow-ups (in China and after the somersault in Canada) to prove his Globetrotters vocation. We shall also bear the original road book soon. The museum is rich. It is well documented and focused on the regional genius and inventiveness. You can see the first assembly line (In Venice, thousand years ago). There is a wagon which dates from 1500 with the first idea of a shock absorber. There are preserved the first airship, the first computer.  There is the first patent for three-wheeled motorcycle (in short, the Piaggio MP3). You can also admire an attractive display of photos of the first woman pilot (beautiful pictures made by herself at the end of 1800). There is a small room dedicated to Giannino Marzotto that alone deserves the trip with his double-breasted worn to race and win (he was only 20) the Mille Miglia against pilots like Fangio, Villoresi or Taruffi. In short, we are very proud to have donated "Vagabunda" to Museum Bonfanti. And on the latest issue of the magazine “Ruote Classiche" there is a short article with a lot of picture of Flavia, taken in one of her typical wanderings. Under the Everest!
