La strada peggiore della vita

Devastante, semplicemente devastante. Siamo oltre i quattromila, respiriamo a fatica. Un martirio.

THE WORST ROAD OF OUR LIFE

It has been devastating, simply devastating. We woke up 5 in the morning to start one hour after, as far as the border. Usual cue then at least in Bolivia and you can see it immediately by roads. At the reorder time control Vagabunda stops: not enough oxygen we need to change jets. We wait two hours for assistance and the modification, so we start last. We find horrible roads, holes, billion of stones, detours through worst tracks. Then dry river cross and dry riverbeds. There is also a real river to cross, a Rover tries to do it but it stops just in the middle of the flowing water. I go and help pushing them. I don’t feel to imitate them so I choose to cross the river on a bridge in disuse. We do it. But the road is always worse, we met a Volvo completely destroyed, the Dutch crew fortunately is OK but they had a frontal crash. Alfa Romeo Gtv stops too, the co-pilot toke her sleeping bag waiting assistance. We see Mustang, Pagoda and Porsche with feminine crew on tracks. When we find time control and we think is finished (we don’t know way) we realized we have to drive 37 km. more. They will be the worst, on the worst road of our life. We have to reach 14.700 ft, in the dark, with all the tracks that finally could start after they were stopped for other crews. We arrive 10.15 p.m . We have a toast in the hotel. We are over 14.000ft and have short breath. It is martyrdom
